What is Reiki?

Reiki is energy which flows through all living things. It plays an important role in everything we do on an energetic, physical and emotional level.

Our body uses this energy to assist in healing and balancing.

Reiki nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting their vital functions. When the flow of energy is disrupted in response to negative thoughts and feelings, these functions may be disrupted. Negative thoughts and feelings, about ourselves or others, attach themselves to the energy field and cause blockages.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy; allowing the negative energy to break apart. Reiki clears, heals and balances the energy pathways, allowing the energy to flow in a healthy and natural way.

A Reiki practitioner is a channel for this energy. Reiki is drawn by the recipient's body to where it is needed most.

What should I expect from a Reiki Session?


During a Reiki session you will lie on a treatment table, fully clothed. You can close your eyes and relax. Please wear something comfortable.

The practitioner's hands are lightly placed in various positions on your body (or above your body if you prefer).

The experience of reiki is as individual as you are. Some people feel a tingling sensation in the hands and feet; others feel strong waves of energy surging through their body. You may feel heat or coolness. You may experience emotions. You may have a combination of feelings or you may feel nothing at all.

Many experience a deep relaxation or meditative state.

Reiki will work in harmony with your body to heal and influence you in the most beneficial way for your mind, body and spirit at this point in time.
